Mediation is an opportunity for adverse parties to discuss and work toward resolution of their dispute in a safe and impartial environment with the guidance and assistance of a neutral third party called a mediator. The mediator assists the parties in achieving a mutually satisfactory resolution.

A principle feature of mediation is that the parties are in control of the process. The mediator is not a decision-maker but simply facilitates communication among the parties.

Mediation avoids the cost and expense of litigation and trial. Mediation also substantially reduces the stress comes with litigation and trial.

Because mediation is non-binding and confidential, it involves minimal risk for the parties and creates significant benefits.
